The coyote paused for just a few seconds and stared straight at my lens. For early morning shooting I was on Automatic. Considering the ISO was 8000 and the head came out tack sharp, I was very impressed with the camera and lens. This is one of my favorite images and makes a wonderful print. Image taken 7December2014 at Red River NWR Headquarters Unit in northwest Louisiana.
Nature photography is my passion. I've been shooting seriously for about the past 10 years. My favorite subjects are birds, mammals and insects. As the opportunity arises, I also enjoy landscapes and sunrises and whatever else happens to catch my eye. Red River National Wildlife Refuge is where I spend a great deal of time throughout the year using my photography to document wildlife sightings. The Visitor Center at Headquarters Unit in Bossier City, LA incorporated many of my images taken on the Refuge into their displays.
