When I first saw this bird flying toward me just above the tree tops I thought it was a Turkey Vulture, but quickly realized it was an adult Bald Eagle. The mostly blue skies contrasts nicely with the eagle. Image taken 29January2011 at Red River NWR Headquarters Unit in northwest Louisiana.
About Ronnie Maum
Nature photography is my passion. I've been shooting seriously for about the past 10 years. My favorite subjects are birds, mammals and insects. As the opportunity arises, I also enjoy landscapes and sunrises and whatever else happens to catch my eye. Red River National Wildlife Refuge is where I spend a great deal of time throughout the year using my photography to document wildlife sightings. The Visitor Center at Headquarters Unit in Bossier City, LA incorporated many of my images taken on the Refuge into their displays.
