The Sora is a secretive bird, preferring to stay hidden among the tall grass in shallow waters. This image taken 11April2015 at Red River NWR Bayou Pierre Unit in northwest Louisiana.
Nature photography is my passion. I've been shooting seriously for about the past 10 years. My favorite subjects are birds, mammals and insects. As the opportunity arises, I also enjoy landscapes and sunrises and whatever else happens to catch my eye. Red River National Wildlife Refuge is where I spend a great deal of time throughout the year using my photography to document wildlife sightings. The Visitor Center at Headquarters Unit in Bossier City, LA incorporated many of my images taken on the Refuge into their displays. I've authored several photobooks about Red River NWR ("Discovering Louisiana's Red River National Wildlife Refuge A Yearlong Photo Journey" and "Refuge Encounters of the Bird Kind.. and Other Species Too").
